Fresh water for Bursa
Fresh water for Bursa Successful modernisation of drinking water treatment with Festo

With a population of 2.8 million, Bursa is the fourth biggest city in Turkey and needs approx. 700,000 cubic metres of fresh water every day. In order to optimise the supply of drinking water, the local municipal water company BUSKI recently modernised its water treatment plants. The 28 newly automated filter basins in the Dobruca water treatment plant can treat up to 500,000 cubic metres of water every day – more than two thirds of the city’s drinking water needs.

Standardised ATEX control cabinet YCCP
Standardised ATEX control cabinet YCCP Standardised and flexible

Combine maximum standardisation with the greatest possible

flexibility. The standardised ATEX control cabinet YCCP saves time

and money through maximum standardisation of your system

components. The cabinets are approved for zone 2 (3GD), while the

integrated, modular terminal CPX as a remote I/O ensures a high

level of flexibility.

Positioner CMSX for linear and quarter turn actuators
Positioner CMSX for linear and quarter turn actuators Reliable position control

The newly optimised positioner CMSX for single- and double-acting linear and quarter turn actuators is as economical as it is reliable. It is the top performer in its class in the non-explosive area. Its extra features include an excellent price/performance ratio, energy-efficient operation, high  process reliability thanks to analogue or digital feedback signals and definable safety positions.

Angle seat valve VZXF
Angle seat valve VZXF Tough

VZXF – the robust universal valve for process automation applications. Perfect for all tasks involving the control of media flows, whether contaminated or highly viscous. New variants have now been added to the VZXF range.

World of Automation
World of Automation Competency from single components through to control systems.

Our multi-part static system presentation comprehensively shows

• how Festo products can be connected to and integrated in various fieldbus and Ethernet protocols around the world

• how the communication hierarchies are related to one another

• and which networking and installation concepts Festo supports: for fluid and motion control for factory and process automation (FA/PA)

Energy-autonomous automation
Energy-autonomous automation Reduce costs with energy-autonomous automation of manual processes

The manual operation of remote decentralised plants such as rainwater retention basins is costly in terms of both time and money. Travel to the location, actuate or inspect the system, travel back to the offi ce: all of this takes time and is not very productive. The answer is energy-autonomous automation using photovoltaics while operation and monitoring take place in a central control room.

Sensor box SRBC for quarter turn actuators
Sensor box SRBC for quarter turn actuators All-rounder with Ex protection

The new sensor box SRBC is the reliable and cost-effective solution

when it comes to electronic position sensing and optical position

indication of automated process valves. The sturdy version with IP67

and NEMA 4/4X is ideal for use indoors and outdoors, even in

aggressive or corrosive environments.

Solenoid valves for high safety and reliability requirements
Solenoid valves for high safety and reliability requirements Top quality!

Festo already has a formidable range. And in future it will be even better. Festo continuously develops and expands its range of valves for process automation. And the range is top quality, especially in the area of solenoid valves and their accessories. So you can control actuators safely and reliably. And you can operate them in outdoor areas without any problem, even in safety circuits up to SIL 3 or in potentially explosive atmospheres.

White paper: Plants based on the Lego principle Modular automation with valve terminals

Smaller batches and different types of product in the same plant – these are the market demands to which more and more manufacturers in

the process industries need to adjust. The answer is plants based on the “Lego principle”. Users can add modules or switch them off in line

with requirements. But this is only possible with modular automation.

White paper: Comparative evaluation of automation concepts for water industry systems Tools for optimising life cycle costs

Energy efficiency and the optimisation of specific production costs are important commercial and business challenges which we must face for a variety of reasons. Energy-efficient technologies are often more expensive than traditional technologies in the investment phase. However, measures to increase efficiency and reduce life cycle costs (LCC) throughout the entire life cycle of a production plant usually pay off.

Partner for water technology
Partner for water technology Automation concepts for optimum water treatment

Ensuring the ready availability of water of a specific quality is becoming a challenge for the entire human race. More frequent bottlenecks in energy supplies, sinking groundwater levels and increasing contamination of global water resources are causing this vital commodity to become even more scarce.
