Pneumatic fittings

Pneumatic fittings, also called compressed air connectors or fittings, are an important component in pneumatic connection technology: there is a matching fitting for every pneumatic tube. At Festo you will find fittings ranging from pure plastic fittings to stainless steel fittings for maximum corrosion resistance and chemical resistance. Discover the optimum compressed air fittings suitable for your applications — including pneumatic fittings for actuators such as valves, grippers, and cylinders.

Choose the right fitting for your air supply

In practice, fitting selection is less about “a connector” and more about air supply fittings that match your tubing, media and installation method. Pick the correct combination and you reduce leaks, pressure drop and rework.

Typical applications include:

  • General machine build: pneumatic air connectors for standard O.D. tubing
  • Flexible routing: pneumatic hose connector options for fast changes and maintenance
  • Air preparation assemblies: service unit fittings and fittings for pneumatic service units for clean, compact layouts
  • Cylinder connections: pneumatic cylinder fittings, including fittings for double acting cylinder applications where both ports must seal reliably

Pneumatic fittings from Festo

Whether push-in, barbed, threaded or click fittings: Festo offers you a wide range of products for the secure connection of pneumatic tubing. What's special about Festo: our range is characterized by the typical system solution concept. In recent years, it has been pushed ahead both on tubing and fittings, with considerable effort going into ensuring application-specific tubing/fitting combinations that are optimally harmonized.

Push-in fittings

Pneumatic push-in fittings, also known as push fittings, are the standard on the pneumatic fittings market and are the most widely used. They are characterized by the easy release function for the tube, i.e. by actuating a releasing ring. These compressed air connectors are used with the standard O.D. tubing that is commonly available on the market.

Barbed fittings

Pneumatic barbed fittings are, historically speaking, the predecessor of push-in fittings. Standard I.D. tubing is inserted via a nipple here. With the CK variant, a bulkhead quick connector, a union nut provides additional mechanical protection.

Threaded fittings

Threaded fittings are connecting elements that are used to create threads from existing threads. So no tube can be connected directly to these fittings – blanking plugs, elbows and ring fittings, and also adapters. If you need a change of direction at the cylinder port, an elbow fitting for pneumatic cylinder installations is a common choice.

Click fittings

Our pneumatic click fittings are made purely of plastic and have no metal content. Furthermore, the patented release mechanism is unique on the market. If you want to install tubing quickly and easily with one hand, then the click fitting is a good choice.

Complete the installation

If you’re ordering fittings, you’re usually finishing a build or replacing a line. Make sure you have the full set:
• compressed air fittings matched to tube type (O.D. vs I.D.)
• A compatible pneumatic hose connector where lines must be disconnected quickly
• service unit fittings / fittings for pneumatic service units for air preparation assemblies
• For actuators and cylinders: pneumatic cylinder fittings and other pneumatic fittings for actuators, sized to your tubing
• If you’re looking for pneumatic hose fittings, choose fittings that match your hose material and diameter.
