Festo vacuum generators have a single-stage design and operate according to the Venturi principle, i.e. they use compressed air to generate a vacuum. With the Venturi principle, compressed air is introduced into the ejector and accelerated to supersonic speed in the so-called Venturi gland, a constricted cross-section of the jet nozzle. As soon as the air has passed the jet nozzle, a vacuum is created and the air is sucked in through the intake opening. The compressed air and intake air can escape from the vacuum generator through the female nozzle as exhaust air.

Vacuum generators that operate according to the Venturi principle belong to the group of pneumatic vacuum generators and can in many cases be integrated directly in a system thanks to their compact design. In contrast to electric vacuum generators that use a pump or blower, pneumatic vacuum generators are operated by compressed air and are thus not dependent on the main power supply. They also have intelligent functions for energy and process control and are particularly suitable for very high accelerations. Festo vacuum generators can achieve different performance levels depending on the workpiece and application.
The Festo Core Range includes three compact and cost-effective vacuum generators. The vacuum generator OVEL is particularly lightweight and can be used in a variety of ways thanks to its different performance levels and vacuum types. The pneumatic vacuum generator VN can be used directly in the working area and is available either in a straight design (inline: vacuum port in line with the air supply port) or T-shape (standard: vacuum port 90° to the air supply port). Our electropneumatic vacuum generator VN can also be used directly in the working area. Its key features include maintenance-free operation and a reduced sound pressure level thanks to an integrated silencer. Additional vacuum generators, among others with IO-Link® and completely assembled as an option, are available in our Online Shop.
What all our vacuum generators have in common is a compact and sturdy design. They can be connected in many different ways, for example via a plug-in connection QS, plug-in sleeve, screw-in thread or using a screw-in silencer. To provide maximum flexibility, Festo vacuum generators are mounted either using screws or indirectly by snapping onto a mounting plate. Choose from numerous optional features to tailor our vacuum generators to your needs.
