[X] Shown with TP 1410 and optional components Fundamentals of Frequency Converters with IGBT Extension Package for TP 1410 Explore the fundamentals of frequency converters based on Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) technology. Designed to be used in conjunction with the Servo Brake and Drive System TP 1410, the IGBT Training Package provides the basis for studying the operating principles of variable-frequency drives. This product combination gives students hands-on experience with the principles of modern power electronics and motor control. They learn how AC power is converted, filtered, and inverted using IGBT technology, and how variable-frequency drives control motor speed and torque. By analyzing rectification and threephase variable-frequency induction-motor with or without constant V/F ratio, students develop a deep understanding of the conversion chain from power supply to motor. Real-time monitoring and analysis strengthen the link between theory and practice, preparing learners to apply their knowledge of frequency converters and drive systems in real-world applications. The free LVDAC-EMS software streamlines lab work and boosts system understanding. Learners can use a complete set of software-based instruments – including an oscilloscope, meters, and analyzers – to measure, record, and analyze electrical and mechanical parameters such as speed, torque, power, and energy in real time. The chopper/inverter control function enables students to adjust switching patterns, pulse width modulation (PWM), and duty cycles, gaining practical skills in power electronics control strategies. Students develop a system-level understanding of how IGBTs influence the performance of converters and inverters.
