The subject of data protection is personal data. This is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (data subject).

Festo offers you attractive online functions that support you in your daily work in a variety of ways or that you can use as an applicant at Festo. Festo can only access content and personal data in the applications as part of service and maintenance work.

Festo is in contact with you as a B2B contact and does not process any personal data that makes you identifiable as a data subject. There is no profiling that has a legal effect on you or affects you in a similar way.

Modern electronic communication offers tools that enable ideal collaboration and the quick and easy exchange of information and data. When using such tools, personal data can be processed to ensure the identity and documentation of these contacts.

The above details will only be shared with our recommended partner once we obtain your consent on record. This is purely optional such that you may opt to stay with Festo or request another recommended partner.

Festo informs you about important market trends, interesting new products and solutions specific to your industry and interests. You will also receive information on marketing campaigns, market analyses or similar campaigns and events.

We process personal data only to the extent necessary to provide the service offered for the stated purpose as enumerated above

Unless expressly stated otherwise when the personal data is collected, the legal bases for the processing are the following pursuant to the provisions of the DPA:

• the fulfillment and execution of a contract

• the fulfillment of legal obligations to which Festo is subject

• the protection of Festo's legitimate interests

• to comply with the requirements of public order and safety or to fulfill the functions of public authority, including processing personal data to fulfill NPC's mandate.

Personal data that you publish via Festo online services (e.g. in chat rooms or forums) can be viewed by other registered users of the respective Festo online service worldwide.

4.2 Social media and plug-ins

Festo is represented on social networks in order to give registered users of these platforms the opportunity to communicate and interactively exchange information. The use of the respective social networks is also subject to the terms of use and data protection declarations of these companies, about whose conditions and the handling of personal data you can find information there.

Festo has integrated links to official channels of the company on websites via so-called social plugins. When you access one of these social plugins, a direct connection is established with the respective provider and your data is processed by them. If you are logged into your user account at this time, the provider can assign the visit to our websites to your user account.

5 Storage of personal data

If no explicit storage period was specified at the time of collection, your personal data will be deleted after a certain period if it is no longer required to fulfill the purpose, unless statutory retention obligations (e.g. commercial and tax retention obligations) prevent deletion.

Festo takes the necessary technical and organizational measures to ensure adequate protection of your personal data in accordance with the DPA, its implementing rules and regulations and the applicable NPC issuances.

7 Possibility to withdraw consent

If our processing of your personal data is based on your consent to the processing of your personal data, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future.

The revocation does not affect the legality of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent prior to the revocation.

8 Your rights as a data subject

Under the DPA, you have the right to be informed of the processing of your personal information. You may request:

• Access to your personal data processed.

• Rectification of your personal data.

• Erasure or order blocking of your personal data whenever warranted.

• The right to object if the personal data processing involved is based on consent or on legitimate interest.

• The right to data portability through which you may obtain and electronically move, copy, or transfer your data securely for further use.

9 Changes to the Privacy Notice

Festo reserves the right to update or revise this privacy notice at any time and will provide a new privacy notice whenever there are substantial changes.
