Electric semi-rotary drives are used for rotating and placing parts, simple applications with a rotary indexing table and as a rotary axis in multi-axis applications. Our solutions are as diverse as the requirements for a drive. They range from electric semi-rotary drives used as a rotary module with toothed belt or semi-rotary drives with stepper motor and gear unit to complete solutions with drive, motor and servo drive. And you will also find front units with integrated semi-rotary drives in our portfolio.
The rotary drive unit ERMS is our complete solution consisting of integrated drive, motor and servo drive. It is suitable for simple swivelling tasks with a swivel angle of 90° or 180° as well as increased mechanical loads. One of its highlights is easy commissioning according to the plug-and-work principle: all parameters can be set manually on the unit itself, without the need for any software or special expertise. Furthermore, it doesn't need an external servo drive or control cabinet for installation. The two control options integrated as standard, digital I/O and IO-Link®, make the ERMS an attractive solution package for electric rotary drives.
The rotary module ERMB from Festo is extremely well suited to tasks requiring dynamic and flexible rotation. It is an electromechanical rotary module with toothed belt that can be freely positioned and used as a single rotary axis with any rotation angle, even over 360°, or stand-alone as a small NC-controlled rotary table. The ERMB impresses with its compact design and uncomplicated mounting method thanks to mounting interfaces on all sides.
The rotary drive ERMO is perfect for swivelling, rotating and aligning parts or workpieces with higher loads. This electric rotary drive with stepper motor and integrated gear unit is easy to mount and is often used in simple rotary indexing table applications as well as a rotary axis in multi-axis applications. Its backlash-free ball bearing is very precise, while the preloaded rotating plate has very good axial and radial run-out properties.
The front unit ERMH has an integrated rotary drive for mounting on a Z-axis, allowing maximum dynamic response of the Z-axis thanks to its optimised weight. The electromechanical rotary module with servo motor and gear unit optionally offers a pneumatic rotary through-feed for vacuum or excess pressure. The maximum drive speed is 200 revolutions per minute.
