The training content of our eLearning courses is designed to be interactive and usually has a storytelling approach with a speaker who guides students through the course. These courses are particularly well suited as an introduction to new topics and provide a global overview. Best of all, you only need a tablet, laptop or smartphone with an Internet connection to complete the courses.

Our eLab courses offer a wide range of hardware-specific training content, which is taught either using Festo Didactic devices or simulation software. The courses include several exercises that are specifically selected by a teacher depending on the required learning outcomes. Our corresponding learning systems are required to complete the courses. Our eLab courses are designed to put previously learned theoretical knowledge to the test with practical tasks.

Our eTheory courses offer a wide range of hardware-independent training content on technical topics. Compared to eLearning courses, they usually convey a broader range of knowledge.

Our evaluations are used to review the prior knowledge of the students or their progress on a particular topic. This is done using a catalogue with predefined questions. These have to be completed in a certain amount of time and a specific number of questions must be answered correctly in order to pass. These values are set by the teachers and adjusted to the level of difficulty as required.

Our simulations safely guide the students when carrying out practical experiments that have no impact on real processes. The simulations offer a cost-effective supplement to the learning process as there is no need to purchase additional learning equipment.

Festo LX provides a wide range of different training content for many topics in technical basic and further training; these include factory automation and fluid engineering, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Industry 4.0, electrical engineering, process automation, renewable energies and STEM. Our instructional designers develop new training content in close collaboration with leading industry and automation experts from the Festo Group. This ensures that our training content on Festo LX combines industrial and educational expertise. By combining innovative learning systems, practical content and software elements, we create a comprehensive and engaging learning path for our users.

We are also continuously developing the content available on Festo LX in collaboration with our valued partners. For example, we have worked with renowned organisations such as Mahr to design courses that are closely aligned with the competencies and requirements demanded by the industry.

If you already have a lot of existing training content that you would like to use, you can either upload it as a SCORM import or convert it into learning nuggets and courses on Festo LX using the LX Creator online authoring tool. To make the transfer quick and easy, the content should be available in PowerPoint, Word or PDF format for import via the LX Creator.

If you already have your own learning platform, Festo LX Content Integration is the right solution for you. Festo LX courses can be made available on your learning platform via Festo LX Content Integration. Please note that only the selected content will be integrated into the existing learning platform; you will not be able to access the functions of Festo LX (e.g. customising existing content or creating your own content).

1) Visit https://lx.festo.com/sign-up and create a free account. If you already have an account, please continue with step 3.

2) Enter your account information and click on "Create account". You will receive an email asking you to confirm your email address. Please do so.

3) Log in to Festo LX.

4) Once you are logged in, click on "Manage licences" in the bottom left-hand corner.

5) Click on "Redeem voucher" in the top right-hand corner.

6) You have now activated the functions and content associated with this voucher. You can view the information about your subscription by clicking on the product name.

7) You are now the administrator for your organisation. You can start using Festo LX. Here are some suggested steps for getting started with Festo LX.

• Click on the "Organisation" menu and edit the information about your organisation.
• You can invite the members of your organisation using the same menu.
• Members can be other administrators, teachers and students.
• Assign the appropriate roles to the new members.
• Please note that a member can have multiple roles.
• "Admin" allows you to invite new members and manage the account.
• "Teachers" can create groups, create content, manage students and assign content to them.
• "Students" have no role and can work on the courses assigned by a "teacher".
• "Teachers" can now search for content using the "Search" menu.
• "Teachers" can add content to their courses (their own course library).
• "Teachers" can create groups of students and assign content to them using the "Groups" menu.

8) After you have redeemed your voucher, you have to change your access authorisations. First click on "Organisation" in the main menu on the left. Then click on the blue "Members" button on the right-hand side to see the members assigned to your organisation in Festo LX.

9) Select yourself by clicking on the three dots on the right of the corresponding line and make sure that you activate the "Teacher" authorisation. You should now be able to access paid content with your demo voucher.

Choose the right licence for effective learning: Festo LX offers different licence models that are specially tailored to educational institutions (Festo LX for Education) and industrial companies (Festo LX for Industry). Both Festo LX for Education and Festo LX for Industry offer access to a comprehensive range of different training content and helpful features.

If you are only interested in certain content, you can choose a licence for a restricted content package (for instance Festo LX for Education in STEM), which still allows you to use all Festo LX features.

If you purchase the Festo LX for Education or the Festo LX for Industry licence, you will have access to all Festo content.

If you purchase the Festo LX for Education in STEM licence or a Festo LX Partner Content licence, you will have access to limited content that is only related to the specific topic.

With Festo LX Single Sign-On (available with Festo LX for Education and Festo LX for Industry), your employees can log in to Festo LX with their existing company account and do not need to create an additional account.

The Festo LX digital learning portal is the backbone, so to speak, of the Festo Didactic Learning Experience.

Many of the course contents are specially tailored to Festo Didactic hardware learning systems and contain practical exercises that can be completed using the miniature learning factories or training packages.

Other learning software can also be accessed directly from Festo LX.

Thanks to the integration of FluidSIM – our simulation software for creating and simulating circuit diagrams – simulation tasks can be created, edited and simulated directly in Festo LX.
