Festo being partner of WorldSkills for 30 years

The Festo Group is a leading world-wide supplier of automation technology and a solution provider for technical education. In 1991, Festo established the partnership in Amsterdam by supporting in innovative technology and high-quality training. We will continues partnership with WorldSkills competitions. Mechatronics is the first skill competition designed by Festo. It requires technician with knowledge of the global manufacturing technology application involved in mechanical pneumatic technology, hydraulic technology, electrical engineering, electronics, computer technology, production digital technology, robotics technology and system development and other fields.

The establishment of Mechatronics is to develop more high qualified technician with the development of industrial technology and application. They need to be equipped the ability to design assembly debugging and maintenance of industrial automation equipment, but also for equipment control system and human-machine interaction (HMI) system program, and dealing with the fluid problems in industrial applications.

Sharpen your skill by knowing the competition equipment

Competitors are required to complete tasks including mechanism assembly, adjustment, control program, writing and action test within a limited time to assess their comprehensive ability in logical judgment, program arrangement and mechanism concept, physical ability and thinking. Therefore, Festo training system, called Modular Production System (MPS), is used in this competition with loading station, Pneumatic handling station, Storage station, T-type handling station, Separation station, laser measuring module turning and rotating module.

MPS serie is the officially designed equipment for WorldSkills Mechatronics competition with integration of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical and information technology, etc. It appeared at the previous WorldSkills competitions in Leipzig, Brazil, Sao Paulo, Abu Dhabi and Kazan, and will present at the Mechatronics competition site of WorldSkills Shanghai 2022.

MPS serie covers basic automation technology and provides a small and elegant entry solution for industry 4.0 technology. The classic lightweight MPS® modular design facilitates step-by-step, flexible teaching programs, containing a comprehensive introduction of RFID technology and service-oriented architecture (SOA), customizing products through digital product memory, manufacturing execution system (MES), application of Web services, AR technology/QR technology, debugging support, network basic technology, OPC communication, PLC Programming, production environment, maintenance tasks, and sensor technology in production.
