Bionics or bionics-based technology know that we can learn from nature. For billions of years, nature has successfully created natural, adaptive technologies for its survival. The organisms and ecosystems that surround us face challenges similar to our own. Studying how nature has developed solutions for living organisms can successfully help solve today’s technical problems. Over the course of time, Festo has been working to investigate these principles of nature through the Bionic Learning Network. Our engineers use an innovative bionic concept that imitates elements from nature to develop solutions for the challenges of our automated world.
Numerous bionics projects have been developed that, in the opinion of the engineers, designers and biologists of the Bionic Learning Network, are suitable for attracting and motivating students to the field of bionics. This is how the innovative Bionics4Education learning environment and the Bioniksatz were created, which together offer students fascinating, hands-on experience in all aspects of bionics while they carry out corresponding bionics projects. And because bionics combines biology and technology, the bionics set perfectly complements our integrative STEM training programme .
