Medical Device Specific Components

Festo develops and builds valves and controls for gas and liquid handling designed with acceptance and approval for medical devices in mind. They are being used today for metering oxygen and respiratory gases, pressure regulation for compression therapy and pneumatic operation of surgical instruments.

Our medical device components are designed and manufactured in an ISO 13485 quality environment, making validation easier and speeding up your overall time-to-market.

Piezo Technology: Compact, Quiet, Energy-efficient Valves

Piezo valves are often a better alternative to conventional solenoid valves, especially in the areas of flow and pressure regulation. They are small, lightweight, quiet, extremely precise, very durable, incredibly fast and above all, they save energy. These valves can also be modified or individually expanded, whether in terms of flow rate or pressure adjustment, making gas-dosing extremely simple.

Stationary ventilation in a clinical environment

Gas flows and pressures are precisely controlled in stationary and mobile ventilation therapy. The proportional valves with piezo technology dose oxygen in accordance with the needs of the patient, and thus avoid unnecessary consumption.

Eye Surgery

The surgical tools for ophthalmological operations are pneumatically operated. Festo valve technology optimizes the delicate processes, transporting various liquids and gases, helping with the vacuum-assisted removal of micro-particles and pneumatic powering of the surgical instruments.

Dental Service Units

Festo solutions help in the regulation of fluid flow, gas flow and sludge. The various treatment instruments at dental service units are controlled independently of one another by switching valves, proportional valves, pumps and compressors. A compressed air controller regulates drill speed in the dental turbine.
