Data protection statement by Festo SE & Co. KG
Festo SE & Co. KG takes personal data protection very seriously. We want you to feel safe and secure when you visit our websites. The protection of your privacy is an important objective for us when processing your personal data.
By granting consent, you agree to our general data protection policy.
The following also applies if you expressly agree to receive a newsletter via e-mail:
Collecting and processing personal data
Our web server routinely stores the IP address allocated by the Internet provider, the URL from which you have accessed our website, the websites visited by yourself and the date and time of your visit. In some cases, Festo utilises cookies in order to be able to place more individualised services at your disposal. Personal data is only stored if it is entered by yourself, for example when you fill in a registration form or a survey, participate in a competition or enter into a contract.
By registering for an event, you are expressly agreeing to our use of your data strictly for the purposes of registration and processing of the event, and if applicable to the forwarding of such data to our subcontractors. Otherwise we will neither forward your data to any third parties outside the Festo Group nor send any advertising from third parties to you. The list of companies in the Festo Group can be viewed here: https://www.festo.com/hq/en/cms/festo.htm
Using and forwarding personal data and earmarking for specific purposes
In compliance with the applicable data protection regulations, your personal data will only be collected, processed and used for the performance of the contract and for the protection of our own legitimate business interests with regard to customer support and consultation, and for product development in accordance with market requirements.
Right to obtain information and public procedures register
On request, and in accordance with applicable law, we will provide you with written notification indicating whether or not and which of your personal data we retain. The types of entries maintained are summarised in our public procedure register in accordance with § 4e BDSG (German Federal Data Protection Act).
Festo implements technical and organisational security measures in order to protect the data we use against random or deliberate manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorised persons. Our security measures are continuously improved in accordance with technological developments.
If you have any questions about the processing of your personal data, you can contact our data protection officer. Our data protection officer will be available to assist you with requests for information, suggestions and complaints.
Google AdWords Tracking
As an AdWords customer, we also use Google Conversion Tracking, an analysis service provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”). This enables Google AdWords to place a cookie in your browser (conversion cookie) if you have accessed our website via a Google ad. These cookies become invalid after 90 days and are not used for the purpose of personal identification. If you visit certain of our pages and the cookie is still valid, we and Google can detect that someone has clicked on the ad and has thus been forwarded to our website. Each AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies cannot therefore be traced back via the websites of AdWords customers. The information retrieved via the conversion cookie is used to prepare conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have decided to make use of conversion tracking. AdWords customers are informed of the total number of users who have clicked on their ad, and have thus been forwarded to a website which contains a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information with which users can be personally identified.
We use Remarketing technology provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”). With this technology, users who have already visited our websites and online services, and who have demonstrated an interest in our offerings, are addressed again through targeted advertising on the pages of the Google Partner Network. Advertising is displayed by using cookies, i.e. small text files which are saved on the user’s PC. The user’s behaviour during his or her visit to the website can be analysed with the help of these text files, and can then be used to generate targeted product recommendations and interest-based advertising.
We use “Facebook Pixel” provided by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). It makes it possible to track user behaviour on our website after a user clicks on an ad on Facebook. We use this technology to measure the success of our ads and to evaluate them for statistical and marketing purposes and, if necessary, to optimise ads in the future.
The data collected is anonymous rather than personal - that is, we cannot assign it to a specific person. The data is, however, stored and processed by Facebook, with the result that a connection to the respective user profile is possible and Facebook can use the data for its own advertising purposes in accordance with the Facebook data use policy (https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/). You can enable Facebook and its partners to display ads in and outside of Facebook. A cookie may also be saved on your computer for these purposes.
Further information on this can be found in the Facebook privacy statement at http://www.facebook.com/policy.php
LinkedIn Insight Tag
We use “LinkedIn Insight Tag”, a tracking technology on the LinkedIn platform, provided by LinkedIn Ireland, Wilton Plaza, Wilton Place, Dublin 2 (Ireland). This technology can show you more relevant ads based on your interests. We also receive aggregated and anonymous reports from LinkedIn on ad activities and information about how you interact with our website.
Further information on data protection at LinkedIn can be found at https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy.
