What effects do changes in air pressure  have on a vacuum?
Air pressure drops with increased elevation. This leads to a reduction in the maximum pressure difference, which in turn means that the maximum breakaway force of a suction gripper will also be reduced.

Height Air pressure Vacuum Absolute pressure Differential pressure to environment  Breakaway force
Suction cup diameter
50 mm
0 m 1013 hPa 70% 303.9 mbar 709.1 mbar 105.8 N
2000 m 789 hPa 70% 236.7 mbar 552.3 mbar 82.4 N

The same vacuum generator and the same suction cup operated at a height difference of 2000 m
