Team Management

In this programme, the learner will be taken through the processes of setting performance goals and measures, formulating development plans and monitoring and evaluating performance.

Target Group

Junior managers, line managers, team leads, supervisors, foremen, section heads and business owners.

Outcomes
After completing this course, the participant will be able to:

  • Understand the work environment.
  • Gather and use information relevant to managing individual and team performance.
  • Apply basic negotiation, interviewing and interpersonal skills.
  • Explain the importance of motivating a team.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of self and team members in a workplace.
  • Apply theories of motivation and group dynamics.
  • Implement a plan of action to strengthen a team.
  • Provide feedback and recognise achievements.

Requirements

  • Standard 9/Grade 11 OR English & Mathematical Literacy both at NQF level 3.
  • Certified copy of a South African ID or passport.
  • Certified copy of Standard 9/Grade 11 report.
  • Certified copy of highest qualification (if higher than Standard 9/Grade 11).
  • Updated CV.
  • Letter from the learner’s employer or hosting company, confirming that the learner is employed or hosted by the company:

- Must be on the company letterhead
- Must include the learner’s names and surname (as per their ID or passport copy)
- Must include the learner’s ID/passport number
- Must state the learner’s job title and start date of employment

*If the learner is self-employed then business registration certificates need to be submitted.
