Interactive Webinar Training

WHY511 - Basic Hydraulics course (1 CPD Point)

This webinar will teach you the basic concepts and principles of hydraulic technology.

Practical exercises will be performed by each participant on his/her own pc/laptop using our award-winning FluidSIM software, while interacting with our experienced facilitators.

Content, outcomes and exercises are based on the Basic Hydraulic face-to-face training.

Target group:

Personnel dealing with hydraulic systems in their working environment.

This format of training is ideal for first-time users of the technology, refresher courses, preparation for face-to-face training courses and group trainings.

The remote/online platform makes training possible for those who are not able to attend face-to-face training courses.

In-house custom webinars are also available on request.

The content includes:

  • Standards for equipment and circuit diagram representation
  • Design and function of hydraulic power supply systems.
  • Physical principles.
  • Measurement of volumetric flow rate, pressure and temperature as an aid to troubleshooting.
  • Hardware technology and characteristic data for valves and actuators.
  • Reading and interpreting basic hydraulic circuit diagrams for direction, speed, pressure and position.
  • Basic principles of systematic troubleshooting.

Outcomes:

After completing this course, the participant will be able to:

  • Name the essential hydraulic components and their symbols.
  • Explain the physical principles of hydraulics and use them for troubleshooting.
  • Measure the volumetric flow, pressure and temperature in a hydraulic system and what the values mean for evaluation of the system.
  • Design, assemble and test basic hydraulic circuits on FluidSIM software.
  • Understand, read, and interpret circuit diagrams.
  • Interpret the characteristics of data of valves and drive elements.

Duration:
The webinar will take place from 8:00 - 10:00 CAT Monday - Friday (unless otherwise specified).

Attendance of all the sessions is compulsory.

Assessment and Certification:

An assignment is to be completed at the end of the course after which participants will receive a Festo certificate of "Successfully completing the Basic Hydraulic Webinar", based on the participant's level of understanding and practical application of the submitted assignments.
