Interactive Webinar Training

WPLC281 - Advanced PLC course- CoDeSys

In order to master the fast-changing requirements of PLC- controlled industrial applications, it is important to master and apply different programming languages. This is complicated due to the huge variety of programming software available.

Differences in user-interface, functionality and command sets cause confusion, and mistakes are more likely.

CoDeSys is a hardware independent software. It offers a Controller Development System according to the IEC 61131-3 standard with all defined programming languages independent of the hardware manufacturer.

This unique interactive webinar simplifies CoDeSys and gives participants confidence in using the software.

Each participant will design his/her own program at the comfort of his/her home or workplace while interacting with the facilitator. CoDeSys V3.5 is freely downloadable software that will be used during the training.

Content, outcomes and exercises are based on the "PLC - CoDeSys" face-to-face training.

Target group:

Design engineers, plant engineers, instrumentation technicians, programmers, maintenance staff and instructors.

This platform makes training possible for those who are not able to attend face-to-face training courses.

In-house custom webinars are also available on request.

The content includes:

  • Basic design and control of CoDeSys.
  • Hardware configuration.
  • Wiring inputs and outputs.
  • Local and global addressing of variables.
  • Programming languages for CoDeSys: LD, FBD, ST, IL, SFC, CFC.
  • Timers and counters functions.
  • Formulating, downloading and testing of industry-related sequence programs.

Outcomes

After completing this course, the participant will be able to:

  • Configure and commission a CoDeSys controller.
  • Create hardware configurations.
  • Create and commission PLC programs with logic associations and sequences.
  • Understand and create program structures.
  • Combine various program modules into structured programs.

Duration:

The webinar will take place from 8:00 - 10:00 CAT Monday - Friday (unless otherwise specified). Attendance of all the sessions is compulsory.

Assessment and Certification:

An assignment is to be completed at the end of the course after which participants will receive a Festo certificate of "Successfully completing the Introduction to PLC Webinar", based on the participant's level of understanding and practical application of the submitted assignments.

Pre-requisites:

In order to get maximum value from this webinar, it is strongly recommended that interested candidates should have completed the below courses.

Principles, concepts and applications of this webinar are based on the content that is learnt during these courses.

  • Basic Pneumatic course (Webinar or face-to-face)
  • Electro-Pneumatic course (Webinar or Face-to-face)
  • Introduction to PLC course (Webinar or face-to-face)
