Interactive Webinar Training

WPN211 - Electro-Pneumatic course (1 CPD Point)

During this webinar participants will learn the basic concepts to successfully design an electro-pneumatic system based on actual industrial automation applications.

You will be familiarized with electrical actuation, -sensing and control technologies and identify differences and similarities between different technologies.

Design, simulation and fault-finding of electro-pneumatic circuits will be performed by each participant on his/her own pc/laptop using our award-winning FluidSIM software, while interacting with our experienced facilitators.

Content, outcomes and exercises are based on the Electro-Pneumatic face-to-face training courses.

Target group:

All personnel involved with and responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, operation and servicing of industrial electro-pneumatic equipment and basic control systems.

This format of training is ideal for first-time users of the technology, refresher courses, preparation for face-to-face training courses and group trainings.

This platform makes training ideal for those who are not able to attend face-to-face training courses.

In-house custom webinars are also available on request.

The content includes:

  • Electrical principles
  • Electrical and pneumatic symbols and standards
  • Interaction of electrical control section and pneumatic power section
  • Function of signal generators (push buttons, switches and relays)
  • Electronic sensors (inductive, capacitive and infrared)
  • Systematic production and reading of electrical circuit diagrams
  • Operating modes of electro-pneumatic control systems
  • Safety regulations and valid standards for electrical engineering and pneumatics
  • Practical exercises for all circuits “hands-on”
  • Typical Industrial circuits

Outcomes

The Participant:

  • can describe the functional relationship between pneumatic and electrical components
  • can identify and describe the design, features and operation of electro–pneumatic and electrical components
  • can identify and explain symbols for electro–pneumatic and electrical components
  • can design, assemble and simulate an electro–pneumatic circuit
  • can read and interpret electro–pneumatic circuit diagrams
  • knows the role of a PLC in automation

Duration:

The webinar will take place from 8:00 - 10:00 CAT Monday - Friday (unless otherwise specified). Attendance of all the sessions is compulsory.

Assessment and Certification:

An assignment is to be completed at the end of the course after which participants will receive a Festo certificate of "Successfully completing the Electro-Pneumatic Webinar", based on the participant's level of understanding and practical application of the submitted assignments.

CPD Accreditation:

Reference number: SAIMC_CPD_S_577
Points: 1 CPD Point

Pre-requisites:

In order to get maximum value from this webinar, it is strongly recommended that interested candidates should have completed the below courses.

Principles, concepts and applications of this webinar are based on the content that is learnt during these courses:

  • Basic Pneumatic course (Webinar or face-to-face)
  • Participants should also be familiar and have experience in operating a PC with a Windows interface
