The Bionic Learning Network takes its design inspiration from nature. A partnership between Festo, various colleges and universities, and development companies, the network has produced a variety of intriguing products throughout the years. Some of our most recent projects include the BionicOpter, LearningGripper, WaveHandling and SupraMotion.
With the BionicOpter, Festo has realised the highly complex flight characteristics of the dragonfly. Just like its model in nature, this ultralight flying object can fly in all directions.
The LearningGripper looks like an abstract form of the human hand. Thanks to machine learning, it is able to teach itself to carry out complex actions.
WaveHandling is a pneumatic conveyor belt that can transport objects in a targeted manner and sort them at the same time.
With the three exhibits SupraLinearMotion, SupraHandling and SupraPicker, Festo demonstrates the technology's potential for the industrial automation of tomorrow.
