In medical diagnostics, the transfer of heat to temperature-sensitive fluids can significantly impair the reliability of the results, whether for blood, enzymes, reagents, solutions or buffers. That is why, when developing the media-separated valves of valve family VYK, Festo exhausted all possibilities to minimise the influence of temperature, from a heat-optimised design and holding current reduction to the option of placing the control electronics in a decentralised location. Valve VYKA in particular impresses with its extremely low transfer of heat. Watch the video to find out more about how you can use this solution to optimise the reliability of temperature-sensitive applications.
The application engineers from Festo have analysed which factors in the design of a valve unit influence the transfer of heat to the media and produced specific recommendations based on this. They also carried out tests on the transfer of heat to fluids with media-separated Festo valves and comparable products from other manufacturers. The results of the comparative tests and the recommendations can be found in our Application Note.
