More female power at Festo

That is what we are committed to.

Admittedly, men are in the majority at Festo. But we have a clear position: we need more women in automation technology. Because women bring different perspectives to the table and their empathetic approach makes a lasting difference. Women inspire and add a splash of color to Festo blue. That in itself is powerful. But it goes much further. That's why we don't make empty promises, but provide really serious programs, support, and offers for women. That is what we are committed to.

Here is an overview of our programs and commitment:

Female Empowerment Program

Training program packed full of inspiration, exchanges and networking

This program is specifically geared towards supporting our female managers and remarkable potential talents with developing their strengths, building valuable networks, and working on their own personal career goals. The topics of our coaching sessions, training courses with external female experts as well as network meetings and meetings with internal success teams are very diverse, covering virtually every career aspect. They include, among others, career planning, self-marketing, strategic networking, negotiating and much more. 12 months crammed with inspiration and encouragement, exchanges, and mutual support to keep growing together.

Scholarship for women on the technical master's program

Promotions that make talent blossom

We are specifically looking to encourage women to take up a career in technology, and to support them in gaining practical experience and making the most of their talents. Our scholarship for women studying for a master's degree in engineering is designed to help them achieve this. In addition to providing financial support, we also offer mentoring sessions, focused on their professional development, and give them the opportunity to gain practical experience at Festo so they can allow their talent to blossom. Preferably long after they have finished their studies.

Watch this space: A new application round will start in May 2025. More information will follow.

We inspire girls for technology

Believe in yourself. Because we believe in you.

We think that you're never too young to discover your technical talent. That's why we inspire young female explorers in kindergartens and schools with our "Erlebnis Technik" and "Abenteuer Technik" projects. With Bionics4Education, we even bring the world of bionics directly into the classroom. The bionic flower is especially popular with the girls and can make their passion for technology blossom. They can then build on that when they use one of the many opportunities to get in touch with us. That could be on a technical workshop, during the Girls' Day, at the Night of Applicants, or at trainee fairs. We look forward to talking to you.

Women@Festo

The network of many hands

Networking makes you strong. We are therefore delighted to welcome more and more women to our internal Women@Festo network. That is where we are confidently shaping our future for equal cooperation. It is a protected space for discussions, exchanges, support, and working towards our common goal: to create real added value for women at Festo.

Introducing:

Inspiring women at Festo

Inspiring Anna Lena

Technology and test specialist | Simulation-based test methods

"I already knew when I was at school that I wanted to learn a technical profession. If this is obvious at such an early age, it should be encouraged even more, and pupils should be given the opportunity to get a taste of technical professions. My choice of studies and what I do today were more of a coincidence. A nice coincidence, I think, because I don't see any challenges in my current life situation that my male colleagues don't also have. When it comes to balancing family and career later on, things will probably look a little different. In my view, that's where we need more flexibility. I don't think much of a women's quota. Because my experience at Festo is that if we enjoy our work and do it well – regardless of whether we are women or men – then we also get the respect we deserve."

Inspiring Vanessa

Industrial mechanics apprentice

"Technology is much more than maths and physics and is often more tangible than you think. After all, it's about finding creative solutions to real problems. The world simply needs many more women who have the confidence to develop and implement innovative ideas. I have always been enthusiastic about this, which is why I decided to train as an industrial mechanic at Festo. When I hold a finished workpiece in my hand and see what I have created, it makes me really proud every time. I already have two vises, a hammer and a desk organizer at home. And I'm sure that my creative mind will come up with a lot more in the world of technology over the next few years."
