Mechanical Materials and CNC Technology in Technical Education

Discover the future of metal training with state-of-the-art CNC technology – from conventional machines to the innovative EMCO Concept CNC systems with interchangeable controls. Our versatile CNC solutions offer trainees the opportunity to learn the most important manufacturing processes in a practical and flexible way.

The conventional machines provide a solid basic knowledge of metalworking, while the EMCO Concept CNC machines with their interchangeable controls allow the handling of various control systems such as SIEMENS or FANUC.

In this way, trainees are optimally prepared for the requirements of the industry and learn both classic and state-of-the-art CNC technologies. With this combination, you will promote technical understanding, precision and flexibility – the key competencies for a successful career in metal technology. Rely on future-oriented training and benefit from practical technology that inspires and qualifies.

Festo Didactic is the exclusive contractual partner for the Concept machines in Germany!

EMCO machines for technical education and training are characterized by:

  • Construction and quality meet current industrial standards
  • Long service life and consistently high precision of the manufactured parts
  • Scope and characteristics of functionality as in modern industrial machines

The machine manufacturer EMCO offers a unique training concept consisting of high-quality machines, modular software and supporting teachware.

Conventional lathes

Through the practical use of these machines, trainees learn the basics of turning technology, such as setting up tools, manually controlling the machine and precisely machining workpieces.

This practical experience promotes an understanding of materials, dimensions and manufacturing processes and creates a solid basis for the later handling of CNC technology.

The use of conventional lathes makes it possible to develop manual skills and technical know-how, which are in demand in many technical professions.

Conventional milling machines

Conventional milling machines play a central role in training and are the key to understanding milling technology. Trainees learn here how workpieces are precisely shaped and machined using various milling processes.

Hands-on work on the machine teaches important basics such as setting up tools, setting cutting speeds and feeds, and operating the machine manually. In the process, the learners gain a deep understanding of material properties and machining strategies.

The concept of interchangeable controls

Standard CNC machines are permanently connected to a CNC control system. If you need a different control for training purposes, the changeover almost always means buying a new machine. EMCO's PC-controlled lathes and milling machines are different: change the control keyboard in a few simple steps, call up different software and start machining! This means you can use all common industrial control systems on just one machine. The control software is also available as an offline programming station. In combination with individually available control keyboards, we will be happy to plan your complete CNC training laboratory with different controls such as SINUMERIK, Fanuc or HEIDENHAIN.

CNC CONCEPT - Training Machines

Lathes

Flexibility is a top priority at EMCO. This also applies to the flexibility of the machines: The EMCO CONCEPT TURN and EMCOMAT series are ideally suited for CNC training and at the same time for the production of precision workpieces. With their modular design, EMCO machine tools can be easily adapted to almost any requirement.

Milling

Whether training or production of small series — the Concept MILL are made to master this balancing act without any problems.
The modular concept of the machines offers the user a great deal of freedom to adapt machines to his individual requirements.

CAD/CAM and simulation

CAD/CAM and simulation

EMCO's CAMConcept provides you with a CAD/CAM system for turning and milling with 3D graphic simulation. Design simple parts with the integrated CAD functionality and create your CNC program even without control-specific CNC knowledge. As an option, the WinNC machine control can also be supplemented with 3D simulation. Win3D-View enables a simple 3D simulation for turning and milling.

CNC Technology

Multimedia, machine and control-related WinTutorials have been developed to provide didactic support for workshop lessons. Whether individual workpieces or an entire 4-stroke engine: CNC training becomes more efficient with realistic functional models and the trainees' motivation increases
