Tracking, web analytics and social media

1. Google AdWords Tracking

As an AdWords customer, we use Google Conversion Tracking on some of our pages. This is an analytics service provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; "Google"). This service enables Google AdWords to place a cookie on your computer (conversion cookie) if you have accessed our website via a Google ad. These cookies become invalid after 90 days and are not used for the purpose of personal identification.

If you visit certain pages on our website and the cookie is still valid, we and Google can recognise the fact that someone has clicked on the ad and has been forwarded to our website. Each AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies can therefore not be traced back via the websites of AdWords customers.

The information retrieved via the conversion cookie is used to prepare conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have decided to make use of conversion tracking. AdWords customers are informed of the total number of users who have clicked on their ad and have thus been forwarded to a website which contains a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information with which users can be personally identified.

If you do not want to participate in the tracking process, you can block the use of cookies which would be required for tracking, for example via a browser setting that universally disables the automatic use of cookies. You can also disable the cookies for conversion tracking by configuring your browser so that cookies from the domain ‘googleadservices.com‘ are blocked.

We use remarketing technology provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; "Google"). With this technology, users who have already visited our Internet pages and online services and who have shown an interest in our offers are addressed again through targeted advertising on the pages of the Google Partner Network.

Advertising is displayed using cookies. These files allow the behaviour of users during their visit to the website to be analysed and can then be used to generate targeted product recommendations and interest-based advertising.

If you do not want to receive interest-based advertising, you can disable the use of cookies by Google for this purpose by visiting the following page: https://www.google.de/settings/ads. Alternatively, users can disable the use of cookies from third parties by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative’s opt-out page. Your browser’s do-not-track setting is also taken into consideration.

By using our offers, you consent to the processing of data obtained by Google about yourself as described above and for the above-mentioned purpose. Please note that Google has its own data protection policies, which are independent of our own. We do not assume any responsibility or liability for Google’s policies and procedures. Before you use our website, please find out more about the Google Privacy Policy.

2. Facebook Pixel

On some of its pages, Festo uses Facebook Pixel, a service provided by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA ("Facebook"). This service allows us to track user behaviour on our website after a user clicks on an ad on Facebook. We use this technology to measure the success of our ads, to evaluate them for statistical and marketing purposes and, if necessary, to optimise ads in the future.

The data collected is anonymous rather than personal; this means that we cannot trace it to a specific person. However, the data is stored and processed by Facebook; a connection to the respective user profile is therefore possible and Facebook can use the data for its own advertising purposes in accordance with the Facebook Data Policy (https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/). You can allow Facebook and its partners to display ads on and outside of Facebook. A cookie may also be saved on your computer for these purposes.

Further information about this can be found in the Facebook Data Policy at https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/
To consent to the use of Facebook Pixel, users must be over 13 years of age. Younger users must request permission from their legal guardian(s).

You can configure your Internet browser to reject the use of cookies in general. You can also disable the use of cookies by third-party providers such as Facebook on the following website of the Digital Advertising Alliance: http://www.aboutads.info/choices/

3. LinkedIn Insight Tag

On some pages of our website, we use the LinkedIn Insight Tag, a tracking technology of the LinkedIn platform provided by LinkedIn Ireland, Wilton Plaza, Wilton Place, Dublin 2 (Ireland). With this technology from LinkedIn more relevant ads based on your interests can be shown. We also receive aggregated and anonymous reports from LinkedIn on ad activities and information about how you interact with our website. LinkedIn uses cookies for this purpose. The information obtained via cookies is used to compile the anonymous statistics and reports mentioned earlier and to display ads based on your interests. Further information on data protection at LinkedIn can be found at:
https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy

By clicking on the following link you can opt out of your usage behaviour being analysed by LinkedIn and interest-based recommendations being displayed:

4. Econda

In order to optimise our pages and to ensure their design is as appropriate as possible, we use the solutions and technologies provided by econda GmbH to gather and store anonymised data and to create usage profiles based on this data using pseudonyms. These solutions may use cookies that enable us to recognise Internet browsers.
However, usage profiles are not linked to data on the individual to whom the pseudonym refers without the express permission of the visitor. IP addresses, in particular, are anonymised immediately upon collection, which means that usage profiles cannot be traced to individual IP addresses.

User behaviour is analysed based on Article 6, paragraph 1(f), of the GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the anonymised analysis of user behaviour in order to optimise its web offer and advertisement strategy.
Visitors to this website can opt out of future collection and storage of their data at any time here. The opt-out applies only to the web browser and the device on which it was submitted; please repeat the process as necessary for any other browsers and devices that you use. If you delete the opt-out cookie, econda will once again be able to access your data.

6. Bing Universal Event Tracking

We use Bing Universal Event Tracking ("UET"), a service provided by Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond WA 98052-6399, USA ("Microsoft"). When you access our website via adverts provided by Bing Ads, a cookie is stored on your computer. In addition, a UET tag is integrated on our website. A UET tag is a code that is used together with the cookie to store pseudonymised data about use of the website. In combination with the cookie, the tag records pseudonymised data to track your activity on our website after you have clicked on an ad from Bing Ads. The recorded data includes the time spent on the website, which areas of the website you looked at and which ad brought you to the website. Microsoft can also use cross-device tracking to track your usage across multiple electronic devices. The data that is gathered is sent to a Microsoft server in the United States.

Bing Webmaster Tools: Bing Webmaster Tools from Microsoft stores cookies and "beacons" on your computer. Beacons, or tracking pixels, are small invisible graphics that can be used to register whether a website has been accessed.

The purposes of data processing: Bing Universal Event Tracking: UET enables us to track your activities on our website if you have accessed our website via ads from Bing Ads. This enables us to improve our online offering. The cross-device tracking enables Microsoft to display personalised ads.

Storage period and control options: Microsoft stores the data for a maximum period of 180 days. You can prevent your data from being recorded and processed by disabling the use of cookies. Hotjar analyses the use of our website completely anonymously; all personal data is automatically hidden and is not processed.

Areas of the website that display your personal data or that of third parties are automatically hidden by Hotjar and therefore cannot be tracked at any time. IP addresses are always anonymised when stored and processed so that they cannot be linked to individuals. Hotjar uses cookies and other technologies to collect data about the behaviour of our users and about their devices. Hotjar stores this information in a pseudonymised user profile on our behalf. Hotjar is contractually prohibited from selling the data that is collected on our behalf.
