From bionics to biologisation: Ecological innovations for the world of tomorrow

We want to use our automation technology to provide climate-friendly solutions and thus contributeto improving the quality of life of present and future generations. That is why we are working hard on how to run processes with reduced material consumption and more recycling, and are looking into which alternative materials can be used.

Opening up biology as an area of activity for automation is especially promising. That is why we at Festo have established biologisation as a research field. Together with other businesses, associations and institutes, we are conducting research into how we can accelerate and scale up biological processes with the help of sophisticated open-loop and closed-loop control technology in order to make them economically viable.

And with BioTech Automation, we are presenting an overview of available components and solutions based on selected cultivation processes, which are demonstrated using two bioreactors and a training system.
