Industrial shock absorbers are hydraulic cushioning elements that brake moving masses reliably and gently. Soft stopping before the end position prevents strong impact or rebounding, so that drives and machine parts have extremely effective protection against wear and tear or destruction. Since the use of industrial shock absorbers reduces unwanted shocks and vibrations that automatically arise during movement sequences as a result of impact, they make a significant contribution to increasing manufacturing quality, process speed, production stability and extending the service life of production plants. Last but not least, shock absorbers in industrial systems reduce operational noise.
Our range of hydraulic shock absorbers meets a wide variety of requirements. There are two different versions of the self-adjusting products with path-controlled throttle function. On the one hand, variants with a rapidly increasing damping force curve and a short damping stroke, and on the other hand, variants with a gently increasing damping force curve and a long damping stroke. There are also adjustable products where the damping hardness can be adjusted manually. Our hydraulic shock absorbers are basically suitable for linear applications, e.g. the YSR-C . In our Festo core range we also have the DYSS industrial shock absorber, which can be screwed in universally and is particularly suitable for low-vibration operation. There are also shock absorbers for rotary applications, e.g. the DYSD.
The Festo DYEF industrial shock absorber is our mechanical variant with an elastic rubber buffer. There are two versions: a variant without a fixed stop, in which the cushioning stroke is not adjustable, and a variant with adjustable cushioning stroke and fixed stop. The DYEF mechanical shock absorber is ideal for absorbing less energy and is part of the Festo Core Range.
If constant, slow braking speeds need to be achieved over the entire stroke, our DYHR hydraulic cushioning cylinder is the right solution for your industrial application. The braking speed can be adjusted individually, while the DYHR 's built-in compression spring returns the piston rod to its original position. This hydraulic cushioning cylinder is particularly suitable for slow feed speeds in the range of up to 0.1 m/s.
