Axis controllers are controllers designed to manage complex movements in industrial systems. Festo has three servo-pneumatic axis controllers in its range.
The position and force control of the Festo axis controller CPX-CMAX-C1-1 is performed via direct control or from one of the 128 configurable motion blocks. Simple function sequences can be implemented in an uncomplicated manner thanks to the configurable record sequencing. The controller's auto-identification recognizes each user with their respective device data – saving you time and effort during commissioning. The scope of performance of the CPX-CMAX-C1-1 includes the control of a brake or clamping unit via the proportional directional control valve VPWP. In addition, up to 8 modules (maximum 8 axes) can be operated in parallel and completely independently of each other. The commissioning itself takes place either via the Festo configuration software FCT (Festo Configuration Tool) or via fieldbus. The CPX-CMAX-C1-1 axis controller increases flexibility, is cost-effective and extremely OEM-friendly.
The end-position controller CPX-CMPX-C-1-H1 enables fast travel between the mechanical end stops of the cylinder and ensures smooth sliding into the end position without impact. A fixed component of CPX-CMPX-C-1-H1 is the control of a brake or clamping unit via the proportional directional control valve VPWP. The CPX terminal allows the control of up to 9 end-position controllers – system data can be read and written via the fieldbus. As an axis controller, CPX-CMPX-C-1-H1 is extremely cost-effective, achieving up to 30% more cycles and significantly improving work ergonomics through massively reduced noise levels. Commissioning is quick and uncomplicated via the operating panel, fieldbus or handheld.
The Festo end-position controller SPC11 supports pneumatic piston rod, rodless and rotary actuators. Compared to electromechanical actuators, it is the more cost-effective alternative. It enables fast travel between two fixed stops with electronic end-position cushioning and up to two freely selectable intermediate positions. The use of SPC11 leads to significantly lower vibrations of the system, thus contributing positively to the maintenance of your application. Other features include a low noise level, up to 30% more cycles, and the ability to change loads.
Commissioning of the SPC11 end-position controller is quick and easy – you do not need a specialist for this.
