Festo Piezo valves

Festo has been using Piezo technology for several years because it offers numerous advantages in the way valves work. It not only ensures fast and precise pressure and flow control, but also scores points with low particle emissions and silent operation. In addition, Piezo technology does not generate much heat, since no energy supply is required once a certain degree of opening has been reached. The use of Piezo valves is therefore particularly suitable in rooms where heat is to be avoided. Due to the generally low energy consumption and compact design of Piezo-operated products, a high packing density is achieved, which is why Piezo valves are often installed in multi-purpose solutions.

Piezo technology's mode of operation

Piezo technology works on the principle of electrical voltage: Two connected plates bend in a certain direction as soon as electrical voltage is applied to them. Piezo valves utilize the bending state by opening and closing with the help of a bending actuator. If the bending actuator is connected to electrical voltage, it bends upwards and the valve opens. If the electrical voltage drops, the bending actuator assumes its original shape and the valve closes. The higher the electrical voltage, the further the valve opens. Piezo valves therefore make it possible to control the flow rate of air flows in a targeted, precise and reliable manner.

High-precision Piezo valves from Festo

Festo Piezo valves are used in numerous industries. In addition to industrial automation, they are also widely used in the automotive industry, in food production and in medical technology. Of course, we have different Piezo valves, tailored to your individual requirements. We offer high-flow products with a very long service life for use with air, oxygen and inert gases, as well as high-precision Piezo valves that are also suitable for use with nitrogen. All of our products have in common both low weight and extremely low energy consumption.
