The Pneumatic Motion Innovation Demo showcases Festo's commitment to continual improvement with products that save you time and money. The demo allows for a practical experience with the new SDBT-MSX sensor. It also demonstrates the power of the PPS cushioning. Both these features save time by reducing the cost of commissioning components.
The SDBT-MSX is an innovative approach to proximity sensors. The main feature that we would like to highlight is self-teaching. With this feature, there is no need to precisely place the sensor at the end positions. The sensor is installed on the actuator with a rough positioning and the sensor will learn the end position after four stocks of the actuator. In this demo we allow users to compare the commissioning times between the SDBT-MSX and SMT-8M-A sensors. This way you can gain a tactile feel for the benefit of the self-teaching feature. Perfect also as a teaching tool for persons responsible for commissioning.
The SDBT-MSX has other features that the benefits can be demonstrated in this demo. The ability for the sensor to switch between normally closed or normally open. Also, the ability for the output to be PNP or NPN. All these functions can be demonstrated. Highlighting the value-added benefits of the SDBT-MSX senor.
