Pressure for many functions

A large field for precise work with pressure is surface processing. Controlled contact pressure with Controlled Pneumatics, for example, ensures absolutely uniform machining of the workpieces, even if they have difficult geometries. The range of possibilities offered by Controlled Pneumatics extends all the way to the safe polishing of highly sensitive wafers. However, controlled pressure is also ideal for dispensing: "Pressure over liquid" allows goods such as emulsion paint or adhesives to be dispensed with pinpoint accuracy.

Flow rate? Dosed very precisely!

You can also control the flow very precisely with Controlled Pneumatics. This is interesting, for example, wherever expensive gases are used in large quantities. One example is preventing oxidation by precisely controlling nitrogen. This means that exactly the amount of gas that is needed is used – losses are avoided.

Movement profiles optimize the process

Controlled Pneumatics makes it very easy to create pneumatic motion profiles. For example, with a rapidly timed exit of the cylinder piston, intermediate stops and a smooth, vibration-free entry into the end position. The return stroke is then pressure-reduced. This is just one example that can be varied. Such profiles help reduce compressed air consumption – in some cases by up to 70%.

Simply good control – the technology

For the successful implementation of such tasks, Controlled Pneumatics requires the interaction of several technologies: Piezo technology in the valves and valve terminals, sensors, controllers and a powerful control algorithm

Proportional valves such as VEAB, VPPI or the Motion Terminal VTEM form the indispensable basis. The small VEAB, for example, reacts to deviations in dancer rollers with lightning speed. This allows it to keep the tension as even as possible when winding high-tech yarns. The integrated piezo technology makes a major contribution with its speed and precision.

The proportional valve VPPI with its plunger coil actuating elements or the motion terminal VTEM with piezo technology for pilot control are suitable when winding film or paper, for example. With the Motion Terminal, this is done via integrated Motion Apps.

Integrated sensors record and process the data. These are made available to the higher-level controller for parameterization and evaluation via powerful communication technology. The specified parameters can thus be controlled almost in real time, which significantly increases production reliability.

In addition to the hardware, a powerful control algorithm that can be optimized for the respective requirement is one of the central points for Controlled Pneumatics. Our experts are in constant communication to ensure that the Controlled Pneumatics hardware works together in the best possible way. This allows them to take into account the specific requirements of each automation solution. This is the only way to achieve optimal results.
