Centralization of control devices in hazardous locations

With the VTUG Festo offers a Class 1 Divison 2 certified valve terminal with fieldbus connection for centralized automation. Amazingly simple, highly modular and flexible with fieldbus connection CTEU. It has never been easier to connect fieldbuses to valve terminals like the VTUG, and never easier to change the fieldbus type: attach the fieldbus node and you´re done! It can also be easily expanded into a small installation system.
Build in control panel solutions, Festo almost completely eliminates the complex working processes involved in the design/construction of a pneumatic sub-system. We construct, certify, bolt, test and deliver customized control cabinets for all your process control requirements.

Modulation technologies of control devices

Smart Positioner CMSH / VTOP

Innovative complete solution: Smart Positioner CMSH and pneumatic Extension module VTOP. The optimized complete solution to control single-acting and double-acting quarter turn actuators as well as globe valves. The CMSH brings integrated self-monitoring and diagnostic features. The modular VTOP incorporates individual components such as Filter Regulator, Booster and Fail-safe valve and reduces connection efforts significantly

Proportional Valve technology

Exploring automation systems consisting of fieldbus-enabled valve terminals with proportional pressure technology to safely modulate globe valves in hazardous environments. Improve efficiency and minimize the risk of handling Hydrogen by introducing valve terminal technology in SIL loops.

Drive digitalization

From real-time tracking to a look into the future.

Festo is a pioneer in digitalization and one of the founding members of the Internet of Things platform. We enable companies to optimize their automation and take a holistic view of their processes.

With our expertise in mechatronics, automation and AI, we deliver customized solutions to increase plant efficiency. The digital twin enables the precise simulation, monitoring, and optimization of processes in real time. This allows you to shorten development times, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.

Festo has extensive experience in the successful implementation of systems controlled by AI. This solution expertise makes us your reliable partner for the transformation of industrial automation, whether you are an SME or a large company.

Centralized and decentralized automation concepts

Electrolyzers

The right automation concept for your hydrogen production

Electrolyzers are important components in hydrogen production. Choosing the right automation concept for electrolyzers can have a significant impact on their performance and efficiency.

Concept 1: Centralized automation concepts for electrolyzers

Centralized automation concepts are based on a central control system controller or control unit. It is used to monitor and operate the entire system.

The main advantages are centralized data management and monitoring as well as the efficient use of resources. However, the susceptibility to failures is higher.

Concept 2: Decentralized automation concepts for electrolyzers

Decentralized automation concepts for electrolyzers distribute the control and monitoring to several decentralized units or modules.

Large systems, such as those found in the chemical or pharmaceutical industry, are usually controlled decentrally. For example, increased flexibility is important in the event of changes or extensions. The advantages of the decentralized automation concept clearly outweigh the disadvantages. At the same time, however, the integration of other systems is made more difficult.
