Ecological innovation

Climate and resource protection are becoming the most urgent task. How do we achieve energy savings and the reduction of CO2 emissions? How can we reduce our material consumption, recycle more and find alternative materials?

It's about opening up new solution areas for automation and it's about the transformation towards the circular economy. Economists have been predicting the end of linear growth for some time. The further development towards a closed recycling economy is the next big goal with new growth potential. Here, too, nature is the great model for us, because it knows no waste and no rubbish. The inclusion of biology as a task area for automation is particularly promising for Festo. The smallest factory of the future will be found in a biological cell. Experiments with algae as small climate savers are already delivering extremely promising results.
