The housing of the pneumatic, electrical and electronic components of your system deserves every care. Because every industry, every location and every application places its own demands on the control cabinets in terms of design, resistance, degree of protection, hygiene, and safety. That’s why Festo combines exactly the right solution for you: tailored to your application, including design and dimensioning, function-tested, and ready for installation. With a customized solution from Festo, you can be sure that your control cabinets and mounting plates are perfectly tailored to your requirements. The result is quick to install, tidy and easy to maintain. So you can save yourself this work.
Our service ranges from identifying the initial requirements to complete assembly. The control cabinets and mounting plates are delivered to you functionally tested and ready for installation. Customized solutions for automation are individually designed, engineered and built, precisely according to your task, and suitable for your particular site conditions and industry requirements. We have plenty of experience with this. And you can focus on your core business.
As a result, you can go live with a ready-to-install system faster and, above all, more reliably – and comprehensively. This is because our high-quality control cabinets and mounting plates integrate all pneumatic, electrical and electronic components in equal measure – optimally protected in the stainless steel control cabinet housing, depending on the version. If required, we also install third-party products.
Control cabinet solution with CPX-E and VTUG
These compact control cabinets establish the perfect link between the pneumatically actuated process valves and the limit switches, the measuring devices and the control or process level. The clever combination of the automation system CPX-E with remote I/O and the valve terminal VTUG with hot-swap function is compact, powerful and easy to install. The CPX-E modules meet the requirements of NE21 – ideal for applications in the process industry.
ATEX control cabinet for potentially explosive atmospheres
An ATEX control cabinet has special properties for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. The ATEX housing is designed to provide a safe environment for electrical equipment and circuits. The modular CPX terminal with remote I/O ensures flexibility. The cabinet complies with Directive 2014/34/EU (94/9/EC) and is approved for Ex zone 2/22. Variants for Ex zone 1/21 on request. Regional standards such as UL or CCC can also be taken into account.
Mounting plates ready for installation and connection
We pre-assemble pneumatic and electrical components safely and accurately on customer-specific mounting plates. They serve as a supporting element for the individual components and are integrated directly into the system concept. Mounting plate available in different materials, e.g. sheet steel, stainless steel, aluminum, etc. Our mounting plates are tested, include the complete tubing, and can be installed directly in the machine. Elements for fastening are already attached to or integrated into the carrier plate.
Do you need a special control cabinet? We’ve got just what you need. In all variations, in aluminum or stainless steel, air-conditioned, as wall-mounted control cabinets or with their own bus technologies. Custom-configured control cabinets and mounting plates are made-to-measure to your particular requirements in automation: across technologies, 100% function-tested, ready to install. Just tell us what you need.

How can pharmaceutical production be made more efficient? Experts from Festo and B. Braun Melsungen AG took a close look at the entire value chain of previous production. There was no doubt that standardized automation offered considerable potential for improvement. We established our system recommendations on the basis of the customer’s requirements. This also included the design of a universal control cabinet standard.
“Especially given the tight deadlines in plant construction, ready-to-install solutions are ideal,” reports Christina Molina, Project Manager at B. Braun. “But with control cabinets, much more than just selling is required. We received comprehensive consulting, from 3D models to fine-tuning the designs.”
The French company Thimonnier is a global market leader in packaging technology and a pioneer in the French government’s Internet of Things initiative “Industrie du futur”. The machine manufacturer is taking a decisive step towards the Internet of Things with state-of-the-art connection technology from Festo.
All the pneumatic functions of the SF102 are controlled by the valve manifold VTUG. It is compact, has a high flow rate, and comes with IO-Link® on board. The uncomplicated wiring of the sensor-actuator combinations with standardized, unscreened connector cables using IO-Link® reduces material costs, simplifies logistics, and saves time. This connection technology therefore makes installation much easier. Sylvie Guinard, Managing Director and CEO of Thimonnier, is delighted: “With the support of our automation partners such as Festo, we are always at the cutting edge with regards to mechatronics and the Internet of Things.”
The MPA modular valve manifolds with multi-pin control the actuators. These valve manifolds as well as the service units from the MS6 series are securely protected in ready-to-install control cabinets supplied by Festo.
“As we have seen in many of our projects, pneumatic components from Festo are characterized by a high level of sturdiness and reliability,” says Frank Waermer, Managing Director and consulting engineer at the engineering firm Danjes from Detmold. “Pneumatics is always our first choice over electric solutions for our water and wastewater projects, because pneumatic components are much less expensive and much more compact than electric ones. On top of that, they have built-in explosion protection and can be operated for a certain amount of time using their compressed air reservoir even in the case of a power failure.”
