Whether in process monitoring when screwing in, riveting, ultrasonic welding, pressing and clamping, or in object detection – the piston position must be recorded with repeat accuracy everywhere. There is now a cost-effective alternative to expensive displacement encoders or mechanical potentiometers: the programmable SDAT-MHS for analogue feedback
The 5 sensing ranges of the position transmitter correspond to the most common strokes of Festo cylinders. That is why the SDAT-MHS can record strokes completely, without the sensor having to project beyond the cylinder. Conversely, its sensing range is also no shorter than the stroke. The welcome effect: the SDAT-MHS records complete stroke lengths including the end positions. Additional cylinder switches: redundant.
Analogue current or analogue voltage output, switching output and IO-Link® are combined in one device. As a result, users can enjoy maximum flexibility when choosing signal processing with just one controller.
In IO-Link® mode, up to 4 channels can be programmed as proximity switches, window comparators or hysteresis comparators via a simple graphical user interface. Almost all applications can be operated without having to program the analogue output in the PLC.
