Entering the water:
it takes up to three hours for
the large deep sea plankton net to reach its predefined
depth of 5,000 metres.
Cool idea:
photographer Solvin Zankl sets up his on-board
studio in a refrigerated container with a constant temperature
of 4 degrees Celsius. This is the only way of guaranteeing that
the organisms would stay alive.
