The Industrial App "Energy Insights" provides full transparency over the pneumatic and electrical energy consumption of machines and systems. Early detection of leaks is especially important—studies show that there is optimization potential of up to 50% in pneumatic networks. Undetected leaks lead to high energy losses and unnecessary costs.
Thanks to integrated AI-based leak detection, "Energy Insights" automatically and reliably identifies such losses, allowing you to respond quickly and save valuable energy. With its open sensor concept and flexible connection options, the app enables easy integration into existing systems and makes the entry into energy monitoring particularly straightforward.

The AX Energy Insights software is delivered as an OCI container. Therefore, an installed container runtime is required as the execution environment. As a customer, you will receive access to our container registry and can obtain the app through this registry. The process is described in the user manual/Application Note.
The Industrial App runs on industrial PCs, virtual machines (VMs), or other devices and computing instances that meet the following hardware requirements:
• CPU: minimum 4-core, x86-64 bit (Core i5 or higher)
• HDD: 120 GB or more
• RAM: 16 GB or more
• 1x Ethernet network interface
Please not that requirements can differ bsaed on the number of sensors mounted into the application.
And the following software requirements:
• Installed Docker runtime (OCI container)
• Docker Compose v2.0
• Web UI: optimized for WebKit-based browsers and Firefox
• UI is optimized for a resolution of 1024x768 or higher
Festo AX Energy Insights can connect sensors from different manufacturers. For pneumatics, these include pressure and flow sensors. For electrical energy, these are electrical energy meters.
The connection of the sensors to Festo AX Energy Insights is the responsibility of the customer. For selected scenarios, Festo provides so-called flows for Node-RED in the Festo support portal.
