Ohio Lt. Governor Visits Festo

The Lt. governor took part in an open discussion on workforce development to see how we can align programs to better support students entering the workforce.

The Festo Didactic team recently hosted Lt. Governor Jon Husted at Festo’s Learning Center in Mason. Ohio, like many places, faces a skills gap where businesses are often stifled from growth due to a lack of qualified workers. The day consisted of a knowledge exchange around innovative STEM education and workforce development initiatives. The Lt. Governor and his staff were provided a tour, an overview of Festo Didactic, and its Mechatronics Apprenticeship Program.

It was encouraging to be in alignment as it relates to increasing access to technology and lab equipment in schools, ensuring students are college ready or job ready, and making the cost of higher education more affordable. There is exciting potential and opportunities on the horizon for Festo in Ohio. We look forward to keeping you informed about our progress with key stakeholders and education partners.
