Different licensing models are available for Festo LX. Depending on how and to what extent Festo LX is to be used, a distinction is made between Basic and Lite as well as the Appliance. All options use Festo LX as their own learning platform. Depending on the license you choose, you have access to all or only certain learning content and features.
If you are already using your own learning platform, you can also make Festo LX courses available there with the help of content integration. It should be noted here that this only integrates the selected content into the existing learning platform - it is not possible to access Festo LX features (e.g. customize content, create your own content).

In Festo LX, teachers and learners have a variety of different features at their disposal to make learning easier.
Festo LX offers a high degree of individualization so that learners are taught exactly the knowledge they need. Festo LX follows the so-called nugget concept with its courses. Nuggets are small, self-contained pieces of learning that provide opportunities for targeted and effective learning. Nuggets are usually built with texts, images, videos, animations, links and other interactive elements. Several nuggets can be combined to form a specific course and thus convey content on a specific topic.
The LX Creator makes individual learning even easier. Existing learning nuggets and courses can be edited quickly and easily, and you can also create your own content. The LX Creator offers the same look and feel of the Festo Didactic content. For learners, this creates a consistent learning experience without a visual break, and makes it much easier for teachers to create content.
Learning paths are composed of a combination of different courses on a specific topic or professional field. They create structures and provide a recommendation on the ideal order in which courses should be taken. Our learning paths are based on our didactic expertise, but also on national job descriptions and framework curricula. The learning paths can be revised and created by the user in the same way as courses with the LX Creator.
Equipment Management provides the ability to add existing learning hardware to Festo LX and to manage it. At a glance, you can see what equipment and how many copies of it are available in the organization. Based on the existing learning hardware, suitable courses and learning nuggets are suggested. Non-Festo equipment can also be created in Festo LX, managed and added as required hardware in self-created nuggets.

With the integrated learning success checks in Festo LX, knowledge tests can be performed and evaluated automatically. It is possible to set a specific time frame and the number of correctly answered questions required to pass.
With Connected Learning, Festo LX offers direct communication and interaction between hardware and learning content. In this way, complex technical relationships are represented with visible signal flow, parameters are adjusted directly, virtual instruments are used, and troubleshooting exercises are performed.
In Festo LX, instructors have the ability to monitor the learning progress and success of their learners. In this way, it is possible to see immediately at a glance how the individual learning groups are progressing and which learners still need specific support with a topic. Learning outcomes for individuals and groups can be exported to an editable format.
If your own learning platform already exists, it is possible to easily integrate Festo LX content into the existing systems. This gives you access to valuable Festo LX content without using an additional learning portal.

Our eLearning courses are interactively designed learning content, usually using a storytelling approach, with a narrator guiding you through the course. These courses are particularly suitable as an introduction to new topics and provide a high-level overview. Best of all, all you need to complete the courses is a tablet, laptop or smartphone with an internet connection.
Our eLab courses offer a wide range of hardware-related learning content, taught either through the use of Festo Didactic equipment or simulation software. The courses include multiple exercises selected by an instructor based on required learning outcomes. Our associated learning systems are required to complete the courses. Our eLab courses are designed to put previously learned theoretical knowledge to the test with practical tasks.
Our eTheory courses offer a wide range of hardware-independent learning content on technical topics. Compared to eLearning courses, they usually impart broader knowledge.
Our learning outcome assessments are used to check prior knowledge or learner progress on a particular topic. A predefined questionnaire is used for this purpose, which must be completed in a certain amount of time and requires a certain number of correctly answered questions to pass. These values are set by the instructors to adjust the difficulty level accordingly.
Our simulations guide learners to perform practical and safe experiments that have no impact on real-world processes. The simulations provide a cost-effective learning extension, as they save users from having to purchase additional learning equipment.
In our learning videos, experts present complex topics in a simple way. In the videos, current topics within the scope of technical training are explained in an easily comprehensible and practical manner, which enables fast and effective learning.
Together with valuable partnerships, we are constantly developing and improving the content available on Festo LX. For example, we have already worked with well-known partners to develop courses even closer to industry requirements and necessary competencies.
ISO GPS (GPS = Geometrical Product Specifications) has been the standard for a globally uniform, unambiguous geometrical language since 2022. This ensures an unambiguous description of technical drawings to avoid later clarification efforts in the implementation. To do this, everyone involved in the creation and implementation of technical drawings must be brought up to the same level in order to correctly apply and interpret the methodology and regulations. In order to close this knowledge gap for employees in design, quality assurance through to production, Festo Didactic and Mahr have developed a joint learning program to familiarize employees in these areas with the basic knowledge of the ISO GPS standard.
