Electeo turnkey learning material

The foundation of the learning process

Electeo courses offer turnkey learning materials to speed up lesson planning and course development. Courses are based on a sound pedagogical approach for a comprehensive coverage of a specific electronics topic. Their standardized structure provides a clear learning journey and progression, with objectives aligned to professional requirements.

Courses focus on hands-on experimentation, conveying the necessary theory in a straightforward manner supported by multimedia tools (graphics, animations, videos…) Projects and guided exercises help learners develop technical and cross-functional skills. Questions and evaluations test learners’ understanding throughout the process.

The collection of courses will be enriched over time. The following courses are now available:

  • AC Fundamentals
  • DC Fundamentals
  • Magnetism and Electromagnetism
  • Diodes and Rectifier Circuits
  • Capacitors, Inductors, and Impedance
  • BJT Fundamentals and Basic Circuits

The course program will be expanded to cover topics in motor electronics, digital electronics, power electronics, and industrial electronics, such as transformers, network theorems, three-phase AC fundamentals, transistors, thyristors, power supply, FET and IGBT, operational amplificators, and more.

Courses are available online on Festo LX, the digital portal for individualized learning experiences (subscription required to be purchased separately); they are also available as PDF workbooks/campus licenses.

Learning activities are designed performed using the base unit with data acquisition and learning boards.

Learning boards

Hands-on experimentation

Learners perform the practical exercises outlined in a course using the corresponding learning board. They use cables to connect various components and circuit blocks and use the virtual instruments embedded in the base unit to take electrical measurements.

Boards feature IEC symbols for clear component identification. Magnets secure the board to the base unit, which controls and powers the boards, whenever applicable. Electronic components are securely fastened to the boards.

The collection of learning boards will be enriched over time. The following boards are now available:

  • AC/DC Fundamentals
  • Magnetism
  • Capacitors and Inductors
  • Diodes and Rectifiers

Base unit with embedded virtual instrumentation

Electeo Virtual Instruments Interface

A self-contained workspace

Electeo's base unit features all essential instruments necessary for circuit analysis. Learners use these instruments to measure various electrical parameters such as voltage, current, resistance, frequency, and phase, allowing them to verify and validate electronic circuits, systems, or devices. No external devices required!

Virtual instruments are an integral part of computerized data acquisition. Virtual instruments include:

  • DC voltage sources
  • Multimeter (voltmeter, ammeter, ohmmeter, and power meter)
  • Function generator (sine, triangle, square)
  • Clock generator
  • Oscilloscope (2 channels)

Virtual instruments are as accurate as physical ones. They can be controlled via a web application or directly in Festo LX (soon). Interface is responsive to adapt to various screen sizes.

For convenience, lights give immediate feedback to the user about the status of the base unit and instruments. The base unit is large enough to allow users to work comfortably. For portability, the base unit is lightweight and powered by an external power supply cable that can be plugged into a standard electrical outlet.
